Who We Are
The Joseph D. Bay Memorial Scholarship Foundation humbly began in 2018. The foundation was established to educate the youth of Leon County while preserving the memory of Joseph Bay. It is through this medium that we hope to empower students with the means to obtain an education from a trade or technology school without a financial burden. The foundation feels there is a great need for these types of jobs in our society and these distinguished young men and women will be the backbone of our future. Our mission is to empower students of Leon County who choose a career in the technology or trade profession. We also want to ensure each student achieves their goals which will not only help our community but society as a whole to move into the future. Our mission continues so that each student’s academic success, technical and trade education mastery, will provide a lifetime of learning.
Our Goals
Our number one goal is to raise funds for trade and technical scholarships for the students of Leon County. Every October we hold our Annual BBQ and BREW Fundraiser event to achieve this goal. The event includes BBQ plates, silent and live auctions, live music, and much more. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our History
Our first event was held in 2019 and since that time our foundation has awarded $114,000.00 in scholarships to the students of Leon County. We provide scholarships for the following school districts.
